My home was the CVICU. This hospital had a ton of travel nurses and other staff so that made it easy to connect with others. Most of the core staff is used to travelers and were helpful and friendly. They had a thorough on-boarding process as well. Would float to other ICU's (neuro, medical respiratory, surgical trauma, coronary) at least 1/week. I never floated to the floor but knew others had but only had 3 patients per hospital policy. Would recommend going in the warmer months to visit the gulf shores and other outdoor activities that weren't available in the winter.
